Smart Nora consists of three main parts. The Pebble that detects snoring, the padded Pillow Insert that goes under your pillow, and the silent pump that inflates and deflates the padded insert.
When we fall asleep the upper throat muscles relax and the airway becomes narrower. When we breathe through a partially collapsed airway, the airway vibrates and creates the familiar snoring sound.
When snoring is detected, Smart Nora starts a gentle movement in the pillow. This movement stimulates the throat muscles, allowing for natural breathing to resume, helping the partner and the snorer sleep through the night.
Smart Nora reduces the volume of snoring below the level that can wake up a sleeping partner. As a result, both the snorer and partner will experience a significant improvement in sleep continuity and quality.
Research conducted by SleepScore Labs, shows effectiveness of using Smart Nora based on 500+ nights of collected data.

We want to give everyone the opportunity to test Smart Nora and ensure that it’s right for them. As a result, we recommend using Smart Nora for 7-14 consecutive nights in order to achieve optimal results. The majority of users experience a reduction in their snoring after 7 consecutive nights of using Smart Nora.
Yes. Smart Nora's Pillow Insert has a folding structure that rises equally across the length of your pillow. This way, you can put your head anywhere and sleep in any position. Whether you prefer to sleep on your back, stomach or side, Nora will still provide a gentle rise and fall motion under your head to stimulate your throat muscles and reduce your snoring.
Yes! Smart Nora is designed to work with your favourite pillow. The slow movement of Smart Nora’s insert is transferred through the pillow to your head, so the thickness, shape, or softness of your pillow doesn’t effect Smart Nora’s performance. While you can use any pillow type, we do recommend using a queen-size pillow (50 x 70 cm / 20 x 30 inches) to ensure Smart Nora's Pillow Insert is edge-to-edge under your pillow.
You absolutely can and should! However, as security measures are changing every day (especially with the US), our recommendation would be to include your Nora with your checked luggage. The battery in your Nora device has only 3.8 WH (watt hours), well below the FAA threshold. Below you can view the FAA article that references these standards: https://www.faa.gov/hazmat/packsafe/more_info/?hazmat=20
Other solutions attempt to reduce snoring by putting your head in a specific position (like specialty pillows), by physically moving your jaw and tongue (like Mandibular Repositioning Devices), or by waking up the snorer—all of which are unfortunately uncomfortable or expensive methods. Smart Nora, however, interrupts snoring with a fundamentally different method compared to other snoring solutions. By using a gentle movement to stimulate the upper throat muscles, the snorer's breathing goes back to normal, without being woken up or forced to sleep in a specific position. Also, this movement only begins when they are about to snore to prevent them from going into a loud snoring episode.
